Message from Ambassador

Warmly welcome to the Website of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the Republic of Finland.

Viet Nam and Finland have enjoyed fine traditional relations of friendship and fruitful cooperation in various fields. The two countries established diplomatic relations on 25 January 1973. Finland opened its Embassy in Hanoi in 1974 and Viet Nam opened its Embassy in Helsinki in 2005.

The opening of the Vietnamese Embassy in Finland is for the promotion of the relations of friendship and cooperation in all fields between the two countries, for the protection the national interests and the legal personnal interests of Vietnamese citizens in Finland, for the support of the Vietnamese community in Finland to better integrate into the Finnish society and at the same time strengthen their bond to their motherland –Viet Nam and preserve their national cultural identity.

We sincerely hope that the Website will give you useful information about the Embassy, the country and people of Viet Nam as well as the relations between Viet Nam and Finland.

Bui Van Khoa
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
